 Desert Classic Chevy Show -- October 13, 2001Arizona Impalas members entered seven of their classic Chevys at the Desert Classic Chevy Club's 14th Annual Extravaganza in downtown Chandler on October 13. In addition, several members who didn't bring their cars still came to the show to support the club. We signed up a couple of new members, sold some club T-shirts, and handed out a lot of free catalogs from our sponsor Impala Bob's. Two of our members won second place in their respective divisions. John Sahid's 409-powered '62 Biscayne won in the 58-64 division, and Jerry Lehr's loaded '66 Caprice custom coupe won in the 65-72 division. John also won a second place trophy in the Camaro division for his '69 Rally Sport SS convertible. Karl Becker had the honor of driving the Camaro to the show and really enjoyed the big-block 396 and 4-speed, while Cindy drove their '64 Impala SS to the show. Our next cruise will be to the 20th Annual Grande Car Show at the Tanger Factory Outlets in Casa Grande on November 3. Click here to download a flyer and registration form.
